5 Tips for an Awesome About Page on Etsy

Use the About Page to introduce yourself and your work to potential customers and bloggers. Tell the story of your work but keep it short and  use meaningful pictures to underline what you are speaking about.

1.) Be you and tell your story

People who shop on Etsy love it to get to know the real person behind the products. So tell the people why you do what you do and what is unique about your brand.

2. ) Let pictures speak

You can upload 5 pictures at the profile - use all of them but choose the photos wise! Let your customers have a look behind the scenes.

Tips for photos:

  • your space where you create
  • your working process / you while you are creating
  • your creating tools / supplies you use
  • awesome shoots of your products
  • your packaging / wrapping

When you are photographing use natural light and simple backgrounds!

3.) Keep your audience in mind

While you are writing your About Page find your points of interest and envision your reader - What might they want to hear?

4.) Show your working process

Show your customers how you work! The more they see the effort behind your items, the more they appreciate your work.

5.) Tell the people what makes your items unique

Stand out of the crowd and tell the people your unique story behind your brand. Are you using special materials for your creations or is your production process unique?

I love patterns

Some time ago I joined an international snail mail project initalized by Mirta from Mi+ed Design.

Last Friday I received a parcel from Emma Hawman. She is a surface pattern designer located in England and I absolutely love what she sent me because I adore all kind of patterns!

I got a wonderful notebook, a fresh colored greeting card and a cute pocket mirror - all designed by Emma. She sent me also some great scrapbooking papers with patterns made by William Morris.

Thank you so much for this lovely package Emma - I’m over the moon with all treasures! :)

Have a look at Emmas Etsy Shop :: she offers awesome work!

She is also on Facebook and Twitter :)
